The Board of Directors of the Dairy Business Association (DBA) has pledged their support for the re-election of J.B. Van Hollen as Wisconsin's Attorney General.
"Attorney General Van Hollen has the background and experience needed to maintain the high quality of law enforcement this office has been recognized for under his leadership," commented DBA President Jerry Meissner. Van Hollen has served our justice system as a public defender, district attorney and was appointed to the post of US Attorney in 2002. He was elected to serve as Wisconsin's Attorney General in 2006. "J.B. is known for being a highly professional person working to keep our families safe," continued Meissner.
As Attorney General, J.B. Van Hollen established a strong record of prosecutions including heading up the largest narcotics case in Wisconsin's history. Under his leadership, his office has recovered close to $30 Million dollars in Medicaid fraud cases. It also applied for and received a half-million dollar grant to use for solving cold case files.
"J.B. uses experience gained as district attorney in two rural counties in Wisconsin. He recognizes the unique circumstances that take place in urban areas, as well as rural farm communities," said DBA Executive Director Laurie Fischer. Van Hollen has been recognized for his proactive actions in shutting down meth labs ending the production of dangerous drugs and the toxic waste left behind for rural communities to deal with. "We support J.B. Van Hollen because his office has been a vigilant watchdog protecting the people of the State of Wisconsin," stated Fischer.
