Three emerging leaders have been appointed to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation’s Women’s Committee.

Nicole Adrian of Grant County, Tonra Degner of Juneau County, and Vicky Harter of Oconto County were recently appointed to their new leadership roles by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation’s Board of Directors.  Their three-year terms will begin at the WFBF’s Annual Meeting, Dec. 4-6, in Wisconsin Dells.

Adrian is a member of the Grant County Farm Bureau and is a current member of the Farm Bureau’s premier leadership program, the Farm Bureau Institute.  She is employed as a pharmacy technician at Southwest Health Center in Platteville.  She also assists on her parents’ dairy farm near Platteville.  She and her husband, Matt, have three children.

Degner is an active member of the Juneau County Farm Bureau, having served as the county’s Ag in the Classroom Coordinator, board director and chair of the county Women’s Committee.  She and her husband, Carl, are semi-retired farmers with two children and four grandchildren.  Degner is also a retired school teacher from the Wonewoc School District.

Harter is an active member of the Oconto County Farm Bureau, volunteers with the Ag in the Classroom program, and is a graduate of the Farm Bureau Institute.  Harter is a graduate of UW-River Falls in animal science and holds a Master’s Degree from the UW-Madison in continuing and vocational education.  She taught agri-business in the middle school through technical school levels, and has worked for a mixed animal veterinary practice. She and her husband, Ken, have one daughter and two grandchildren.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Women’s Committee carries out a number of projects and activities to educate youth and consumers about farming, food safety and animal welfare.  They also are planning the 2011 Wisconsin Ag Women’s Summit, set for March 18-19 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
