Wisconsin’s September milk price is expected to average $17.20 per hundredweight (cwt.) or $1.47 per gallon at the farm gate. This price is 90 cents higher than August’s price of $16.30 per cwt. and $3.70 more than September 2009.

The expected U.S. milk price for September is $17.20 per cwt. This is up 50 cents from August and is the same as Wisconsin’s price. With the exception of Florida, which is expecting a 30 cent drop in price, all of the major milk producing states are predicting a price increase from August to September. Wiscon-sin is expecting the largest increase in price, followed by Wash-ington, which is predicting a rise in price of 80 cents per cwt. Minnesota and California are both expecting a 70 cent increase in their milk price.
