Farm News: Grummer Leaving UW Dairy DepartmentcommentsPosted: 10.07.2010 The UW-Madison Dairy Science department has been leveled a blow. Balchem Corporation has announced that Dr. Ric Grummer, currently Chairman of the UW Dairy Science Department will become their new Ruminant Technical Director. Dr. Grummer has more than 25 years in the dairy business. In his new position, Grummer will drive technical training, research and understanding of Balchem’s ruminant nutrition products. Grummer got his Bachelor degree in Dairy Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned his Master’s degree and Ph.D., in Dairy Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Grummer has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and 9 book chapters about dairy cattle nutrition with a focus on transition dairy cows and metabolic diseases.
