Wisconsin has long been a dominant force at the National FFA Alumni Convention - and 2010 is no exception!

Jerry Wendt, Stoughton Ag Instructor and alumni member, tells Pam Jahnke that Wisconsin has again captured the title of "Top State" in overall alumni membership for 2010!  The announcement came Thursday at the 83rd National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Wendt also reports that the Denmark FFA Alumni was top in the nation with the number of alumni memberships it holds.  Denmark also has the most "lifetime" alumni members in the naiton - followed closely by the Stoughton FFA Alumni in second place.

Tigerton's FFA Alumni came away with a second in the nation for its scrapboooking efforts with Stoughton's FFA Alumni grabbing a third place award.

Diane Amera of Stoughton, accepts her Honorary American FFA degree on Friday in Indianaplos.  She's concluding her year as the National FFA Alumni President.

Amera was a guest on the WI Farm Report Radio Network from Indianapolis with some perspective on her term as president.  She told Pam Jahnke that the challenges that all of education is facing have brought new approaches in keeping agriculture education in schools.  She stressed that alumni members play a key role in explaining the importance of those programs to their local communities.

Amera said one way anyone can help is by getting involved in the on-line auction being conducted through the convention - to benefit national ffa alumni activities.  There are both live and silent bid auction items available right now.  To see those items and engage in bidding go to:

The National FFA Convention concludes on Saturday.
