Wisconsin FFA Alumni members can take at least a little credit for helping FFA chapters across the nation!
The National FFA Alumni office has announced that the silent auction efforts during the national convention in Indianapolis brought in more then $119,631 for scholarships to FFA members. The scholarships will help members attending collegiate and Washington Leadership Conference activities.
Regina Oldendorf of Blair, WI, is the Executive Secretary of the National FFA Alumni. Apparently one of the more popular activities at the alumni convention was the Alumni Educational or “Fun Zone” - a feature near the silent auction items. That "Fun Zone" had attendees dancing to the Cupid Shuffle or members playing "Minute to Win it" games - all while they learned about the alumni association and its benefits. It didn't hurt the bidding process on those silent auction items either.
Oldendorf says there were 1,000 items that were donated for bidding during the fund raising activities.
