It looks like there will be another full compliment of young women speaking out for Wisconsin's county fairs!
Details were released on the 2011 Wisconsin State Fair Association annual meeting, January 9-12 at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. 40 women have been entered as contestants in the annual "Fairest of the Fairs" competition that allows one to ultimately end up as the states spokesperson for county fairs - and to serve as official ambassador during the Wisconsin State Fair as well.
Natalis Salkowski, the current Fairest of the Fair, is already recalling her busiest duties this summer. Salkowski, an Ozaukee county native, says she traveled to 54 county fairs this past season - each with their own unique charm.
Contestants involved in the "Fairest" evaluation process undergoe four days of interviews and personal presentations to a panel of judges.
