The South Dakota Supreme Court has been
asked to help settle part of a family dispute involving one of the
world's largest beef jerky companies.

Jay Link, the son of Wisconsin-based Link Snacks Inc. founder
Jack Link, thinks a judge undervalued his shares of South
Dakota-based subsidiary LSI Inc.

A circuit judge had determined that Jay Link's LSI shares were
worth $16.55 million.

Jay Link's attorney asked the South Dakota Supreme Court on
Tuesday to direct that his shares of LSI be purchased for $21
million. He argued that the circuit judge mistakenly discounted the
value of the company because LSI sells to only one customer, Link
Snacks.

An attorney for the company says the valuation is correct.
