Wisconsin is gearing up for the big gun deer hunt next week, but
state wildlife officials say meanwhile the clock is quietly ticking
on spring turkey and bear permits.

The deadline for applying for either permit is the end of the
day Dec. 10.

The Department of Natural Resources has 225,420 spring turkey
permits available. The Natural Resources Board will set the number
of bear permits in January.

Applications cost $3.
