State fishing experts want to know what the
public thinks about managing muskies in the bay of Green Bay and
Lake Michigan.

The Department of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting
on Dec. 2 in Green Bay to take comments on the agency's draft
management plan for the fish.

Overfishing, water pollution and habitat destruction wiped out
muskies from Green Bay and Lake Michigan in the 1930s.
The DNR has been working since 1989 to repopulate those waters
with the fish. Agency officials say they've successfully created
what they consider a ``world-class'' musky fishery.
The DNR has been working with anglers over the past year on the
draft plan.
