Farm News: Mood's Improve For Farm Bureau Convention

The state's largest farm organization will begin it's 91st annual meeting Friday in Wisconsin Dells - and growers are probably going to be in a better mood.

Casey Langan, with the WI Farm Bureau, says they'll kick things off Friday with their Young Farmer actitivites.  "I would say the mood of our members this year is upbeat,"  according to Langan.  "2009 was a rough year in some regards for agriculture - so 2010 was kind of a rebound year.  We're seeing people who are fired up about ag prices and the fact that ag trade is up.  They feel like things are headed in the right direction and that upbeat attitude is reflected in our members."

Hopefully members will keep that positive attitude when they get done listening to keynoter, Steve Kopperud on Sunday.  Kopperud is the former founder of the Animal Agriculture Alliance - and he'll be delivering the straight, no nonsense update on what animal agriculture is up against with animal rights groups.

Sunday night the Farm Bureau will host its awards banquet - with Monday being dedicated to business and resolution development.

You can find a complete agenda at wfbf.org.

Farm Director, Pam Jahnke, will be covering the event - so keep checking back for updates!
