Farm News: Volunteers Make Foundation Work

comments

Posted: 12.01.2010

"Thank you," just doesn't seem to be enough gratitude for all the volunteers that help make the Wisconsin FFA Foundation Development Team work.

The groups major responsibility is to annually help raise dollars supporting the 18,000 Wisconsin FFA members and their programs growing. These include FFA leadership conferences, FFA Proficiency Awards, grants for Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs, State FFA Degrees and speaking contests, to name a few.

Last year, more than $330,000 was raised for Wisconsin FFA members through the generous support of companies and individuals.

The Wisconsin FFA Foundation Development  Committee includes first row—Derrick Papcke, Papcke Farms; Janet Keller-Chairperson; Mike Kawleski, Past Chair, Georgia-Pacific LLC; Jan Stranz, Oconto Electric Co-op; Gary Tomter, CHS Business Solutions; Tammy Beard, Badgerland Financial (past member). Back row: Shawn Pfaff, Capitol Consultants; Rick Daluge, Emeritus Assistant Dean-Farm & Industry Short Course; Nicole Nelson, Executive Director, Wisconsin FFA Foundation; Joan Behr, Foremost Farms (past member) and Julie Larson, Chair-Elect, Merial Ltd.  Missing from the photo are—Kevin Bacon, Kraft Foods; Jane Griswold, Hoard’s Dairyman; Christine Lindner, Alice in Dairyland; Gena Polzin, CHS Foundation and Ed Peck, Filament Marketing.
