Landmark Services Cooperative is pleased to announce that Bob Carlson has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer by the Landmark Board of Directors.  He will assume leadership of the cooperative upon current CEO Larry Swalheim’s retirement in January of 2011.

Bob has served as the Chief Operating Officer for Landmark Services Cooperative since February of 2007.  During that time he has been a part of the leadership team that has overseen the creation of Verity Resources LLC, an Ag lending and insurance partnership with AgQuest of Morgan, Minnesota; a large expansion of Landmark’s grain storage facilities and several other strategic growth projects.  Prior to joining the Landmark team, Bob was a National Sales Director for Cofina Financial in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he managed all aspects of their $82 million Producer Lending program.  During his twenty-five years as part of the Ag cooperative system, he has held several key leadership positions in cooperatives in Minnesota and South Dakota.

A 1980 graduate of May-Port High School in the Red River Valley area of North Dakota, Bob next served four years as a Military Intelligence Analyst in the US Army.  Bob received his bachelor’s degree in Business and Public Administration from the University of North Dakota and a Masters in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Recently, he completed the two-year Leadership Wisconsin development program for leaders at the local, state and international level.

Bob currently resides in Stoughton, Wisconsin with his wife of 25 years, Lisa.  Bob and Lisa have three children, Justin, 23; Shantal, 21; and Jace, 15; as well as a granddaughter, Ava.  “I am truly humbled and excited to have this opportunity to lead a cooperative that has had so much success and with such a bright future ahead of it,” said Bob.

Bob’s first day in his new position will be January 17, 2011.  Please join us as we welcome him as the new CEO of Landmark Services Cooperative.
