Wisconsin wildlife officials are urging
people to recycle their Christmas trees.

The Department of Natural Resources says people can leave their
tree in their yard so birds and animals can use it for shelter.

People also can trim off smaller branches to serve as cover for
garden plants and trunks make good trellis bases or tomato stakes.

The DNR says people also can chip up trees for mulch and dried
branches make good kindling.
