A group of retired Oscar Mayer workers is
suing corporate parent Kraft Foods over reductions in retiree
health benefits that took effect this month.

The four retirees filed their federal lawsuit Friday in Madison.
The lawsuit alleges that Northbrook, Ill.-based Kraft cut
healthcare-provider options and increased co-pays for treatment and
medications. T
he lawsuit says the actions violate both federal law
and the terms of a collective bargaining agreement signed in 2001.
Kraft spokeswoman Syd Lindner says the company hadn't seen the
lawsuit and couldn't comment. She did say the retirees receive
``market-leading'' benefits.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the workers are asking
that the lawsuit be certified as class action to encompass an
unspecified number of other retirees.
