Farm News: WI Berry Growers Elect New OfficerscommentsPosted: 01.10.2011
Some familiar faces are combing with some new to guide the Wisconsin Berry Growers Association for 2011. At their annual meeting in Wisconsin Dells - sage members, Ed Bures of Bures Berry Patch, Barneveld and Chuck Prellwitz of Prellwitz Produce, Ripon were asked to return to the board after previous leadership stints.
Elected as President was John Lutz of Lutz Family Farm in Marshall, Wisconsin and taking the role of Vice President was Wayne Zastrow of Zastrow’s Strawberries in Mayville. The other returning board members are Charlie Rhinehart of Country Bumpkin Farm Market in Wisconsin Dells and Cindy Secher of Carandale Farm, Oregon, Wisconsin. The WBGA was formed in 1948 and is dedicated to the production and promotion of Wisconsin strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Their purpose is to inform the public of the healthful and flavorful qualities of Wisconsin grown berries and of the opportunities for good family fun when visiting a Wisconsin berry farm. The Association assists their grower members to produce and market the highest quality berries possible to their customers.
