Farm News: Farmers Work On Social Media SkillscommentsPosted: 01.14.2011 Wisconsin farmers have several, free opportunities to learn about social media and the importance of telling their personal farm stories during the next few weeks via online presentations and a special session at Wisconsin Corn/Soy Expo in Wisconsin Dells. Social media training with Alice in Dairyland takes place Thursday, Feb. 3, 4:30-5:30 pm at the Kalahari Conference Center during the annual Corn/Soy Expo Wisconsin Dells. This session, sponsored by the Wisconsin soybean checkoff and corn checkoff is available without registration to all family members interested in learning social media basics.
“Social media has become the central meeting place for millions of Americans both young and old,” explains Alice in Dairyland Christine Lindner. “It is not only a quick way for farmers to easily reach hundreds of consumers; it’s also the way most people prefer to communicate today, regardless of age. It’s not simply about the virtual connection, though, it’s about making that personal connection and sharing your passion for our state's $59 billion agriculture industry.”
