The Wisconsin Show Pig Association (WSPA) will host a Youth Show Pig Symposium on Saturday, February 12 at Pippin Center located in Melvin Hall, UW Richland in Richland Center.   

The event will cover all things show pigs, from sale day to show day and everything in between. Registration begins at 9:15 a.m., program begins at 10 a.m. and will end at 2 p.m.  

Jared Searls, Vita Plus, will lead the feeding portion of the program, while Laura Daniels, also with Vita Plus will lead and educate attendees on how to properly address consumers and media regarding agriculture.  

Additional topics that will be covered include: show pig selection, and care at home – before and after shows. Youth will have the opportunity to have their questions answered during a panel discussion featuring WSPA member producers. Also, youth will have the chance to meet with producers one-on-one during registration from 9:15-10 a.m. 

The symposium is free to WSPA members and $10 for non-members. Lunch is included. Memberships will be available the day of the event. RSVP to wisconsinshowpigassocation@gmail.com by February 10.
