Farm News: A.V. Roth Remains Pork President

Howard "AV" Roth's willingness to continue as Wisconsin Pork Association president was endorsed during the annual business meeting of the group in Wisconsin Dells.

Roth from Wauzeka, along with Bill Gnatzig from Roberts, and Bob Spurley of Linden, were all re-elected to a second term on the board. 

 

Elected as officers for the coming year were: AV Roth, Wauzeka, President; Mike Salter, Black Creek, Vice President; Allen Ries, Lomira, Treasurer; and Bill Gnatzig, Secretary. 

Other directors on the board include: Mike Beisbier, Reedsburg; Tom Knauer, Avalon; Bob Spurley, Linden; Gary Skalitzky, Waterloo; and Shannon Wolf, Lancaster. 
 

In addition, the membership approved resolutions for the upcoming year. 

Included were resolutions on: CME lean hog contracts; UW-Vet School; GIPSA; Immigration; Public Schools; CALS Dean; Renewable Fuels Standard; State Inspected Meat; and 2012 Farm Bill.  Other resolutions that passed were re-affirmations from previous years.  For a copy of the complete resolutions, please contact WPA at 1-800-822-7675. 

 

All pork producers had the opportunity to vote for delegates to serve at the 2012 National Pork Industry Forum.  Elected to serve as Pork Act Delegates were Mike Beisbier, Reedsburg; Mike Salter, Black Creek; and Tom Knauer, Avalon, Alternate.
