This month, the DOE Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) will
launch a seminar series featuring a wide range of bioenergy experts.

Rajai Atalla, founder and CEO of Cellulose Science International, will
kick off the series on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus
March 1. Atalla has worked for many years in the field of cellulosic
chemistry and characterization.

In his talk, titled “The Diversity of Native Celluloses” Atalla will
discuss how cellulose modification is an important key to successful
conversion technologies.

“We are excited for this opportunity to not only share the latest
bioenergy information with the industry and public, but also to create
a unique network for the researchers at GLBRC with experts around the
world,” said John Greenler, GLBRC education and outreach director.

The new series is open to the public and will alternate between the
University of Wisconsin-Madison and Michigan State University
campuses. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend along
with industry and community leaders interested in renewable energy.
