World Dairy Expo went around the world for their 2011 slate of honorees for this fall's show!

The 2011 WDE Dairyman of the Year is actually going to multiple dairymen.  Koepke Farms, Inc. of Oconomowoc has been named Dairyman of the Year.  The farm is managed by Alan, Jim, David and John Koepke. Koepke Farms milks 330 Holstein cows, raises replacement heifers and has 970 acres dedicated to corn, soybeans and hay. 

The 2011 Dairy Woman of the Year is Donna Myers of Windsor Manor in New Windsor, Maryland.  Myers is currently serving as president of the Maryland Holstein Association as their first woman president.  She's also in line to be the next president of the Maryland Agriculture Council.  Windsor Manor's herd has received 9 Progressive Breeder Registry Awards, and 18 Progressive Genetics awards.  Donna participates in all the breeding decisions on the farm.

The WDE Industry Person of the Year is Dr. H. Duane Norman.  Norman is involved in key research with the Animal Improvement Programs Laboratory, ARS, USDA in Fulton, Maryland.

The World Dairy Industry International Person of the Year is Anne Perchard from La Ferm, Ltd. (The Amson Jersey Herd) of St. Martin, Jersey, Great Britian.

All of the honorees will be recognized by the dairy industry on Wednesday, October 5th - during WDE's Dinner with the Stars.
