The state Department of Natural Resources
is looking for people interested in helping young hunters learn how
to stalk turkeys.

The agency is soliciting sponsors for Learn to Hunt turkey
events. The Learn to Hunt program offers novices mentored hunts for
a number of game species, from turkeys to deer. The program is
designed to coax more people into hunting. Local conservation clubs
and other organizations typically sponsor the events with help from
the DNR.

DNR officials say sponsor application forms are available on the
agency's website. Mentors' names also must be submitted to the DNR
for background checks at least two weeks before the event.
