Farm News: Leadership Wisconsin Announces Awards

People and organizations that have made a difference in their communities will be recognized with "Leadership Excellence Awards" by the Leadership Wisconsin Program - formerly known as Wisconsin's Rural Leadership Program.

"Daring to be BOLD", April 19-20 at Chula Vista in the Wisconsin Dells will focus on bringing courage to individuals leadership style and skills.

During that conference, the "Leadership Excellence Awards" will be presented. The award recognizes youth, individuals and organizations whose leadership has made a significant impact in their communities. The work may confront societal or civic issues, address health or environmental concerns, or promote arts and humanities, etc.  The Leadership Excellence Awards showcase individual and organizational excellence in leadership as demonstrated by outstanding initiative, impact of work, and inspiration of others.

Leadership Wisconsin has gotten strong reviews from it's alumni. 

A recent in-depth program review found that:

  • 96% of the alumni indicated that the experience was very important to their leadership development.
  • 73% of the alumni said they use the knowledge and skills they learned during the program experience at least once a week- even years later. 
  • 50% of the alumni they use the knowledge and skills they learned daily!
