Two new facilities incorporating earth-friendly designs will host the Nelson Institute's fifth
annual Earth Day Conference in Madison.

The Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, which opened in December, and next-door neighbor Union South, opening this month, will house the event April 20.

The facilities incorporate features such as local building materials, natural lighting and geothermal heating. The conference theme is ``Pursuing a More Sustainable Wisconsin:
Innovation in Buildings, Energy, and Food Systems.''

Speakers include the head one of the country's largest electric
power companies, executive director of Green for All and the head
of Stonyfield Farm. University of Wisconsin System president Kevin
Reilly will also speak.
