Farm News: Dairy Farmers Reminded To Vote In WMMB ElectionscommentsPosted: 04.18.2011
The deadline to mail in your Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) election ballot is April 25, according to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). For the 2011 elections, there are 12 candidates running for nine positions and a three-year term. Six districts have candidates running unopposed, while three districts have run-off elections.
DATCP distributed mail-in ballots earlier this month to licensed dairy operations in the nine election areas. Each licensed dairy operation receives one vote. Producers in affected districts who have not received a ballot should immediately contact Noel Favia from DATCP at (608) 224-5140. Election results will be announced later in May.
Here are the candidates and their representing districts:
District 1 Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Rusk, Sawyer and Washburn Counties
