Wisconsin’s April milk price is expected to average $19.10 per hundredweight (cwt.) or $1.63 per gallon. This price is $1.90 lower than March’s price of $21.00 per cwt. or $1.80 per gallong.  Growers also need to remember that this price is $4.60 higher than April 2010.

The expected U.S. milk price for April is $19.70 per cwt. or $1.69 per gallong. This is down 70 cents from March and is 60 cents higher than Wisconsin’s price.

Sixteen of the major milk producing states are predicting a price decrease from March to April, 3 are expecting an increase, and 4 are anticipating no change.

California and Idaho are predicted to have the lowest prices in the nation, at $18.30 ($1.57 per gallon) and $17.00 per cwt.($1.46 per gallon), respectively.
