The Badger Pork Day that had been scheduled for May 21 in Arlington, Wisc., has been cancelled due to low registration numbers. “With corn and soybean planting behind schedule across the state, we know that Wisconsin’s pork producers have got catch-up work to be done,” said Mahlon Peterson, Leader for the UW-Extension Swine Team.
The event was planned as an educational outreach to pork producers, youth, and county fair superintendents across the state. “We will be looking at alternative dates to reschedule Badger Pork Day,” continued Peterson. “Wisconsin pork producers are facing a number of challenges, and we want to offer them as many avenues for education as we can.”
