Authorities say all highway on-ramps in downtown Milwaukee have reopened following a sudden downpour that dumped nearly two inches of rain in less than an hour.

The sheriff's office says several areas were closed briefly Monday morning because of standing water or flooding conditions. The National Weather Service says those conditions weren't typical. Meteorologist Marcia Cronce says most areas across Milwaukee,
Ozaukee and Waukesha counties got about half an inch of rain.

West-central Wisconsin got more than 5 inches over the weekend, with street flooding in Buffalo, La Crosse, Trempealeau and Vernon counties.
