On July 14, the Wisconsin Pork Association will be hosting ‘Bacon Appreciation Night’ at the Madison Mallards stadium.  Prior to game time (7:05), WPA members will be grilling and sampling pork loins to the crowd as they make their way into the stadium.  The Pork Checkoff’s "We Care" trailer will make an appearance, and pork producers will promote the new 145 degree cooking temperature, offer recipes and coupons for pork, and talk about their hog farms.

If you are interested in volunteering for this event, and joining us for a night at the ballpark on July 14, contact Tammy Vaassen. 

The first 500 kids into the park that night will receive a piggy bank, and bacon will be featured in a number of menu items in the ball park.  Last year, they offered “pigsicles,” bacon-wrapped shrimp, roast BLTs, pork chops on a stick, and bacon chocolate sundaes!   In addition, the Pork Be Inspired logo has been included in 250,000 Mallards pocket schedules, and through a number of other venues in the park.
