The 4thof July weekend can start off a little brighter for Wisconsin dairy farmers. The Wisconsin Ag Statistical Service announced that the June milk price they’re paid went up about 18 cents a gallon!

The average Wisconsin dairy operation can expect to be paid around $21.00 a hundredweight (cwt.) or $1.80 per gallon for all the milk they produced in the month of June for those June dairy celebrations. That price is not only higher then what they were paid in May – it’s also $6 a cwt. or 51 cents a gallon higher  than their pay price last year.

California saw the biggest jump in pay price. Their growers will get $2.42 a cwt. more for their June milk – or 20 cents a gallon more compared to May. Minnesota and Wisconsin followed price-wise with their gains.

Texas is expecting the lowest price increase, rising only 30 cents per cwt. from May to June.
