John Shutske, chair of Wisconsin Farm Technology Days Board of Directors tells the Wisconsin Farm Report that they held an emergency meeting last week to discuss the expenses associated with the wind storm that ripped through tent city on the Seehafer Acres farm July 1st.

The storm caused damage to many large tents that had been erected in tent city. Marathon County volunteers have been working long hours to insure an excellent show will take place July 12-14. Many of the tents have been repaired and erected and number of large tents  were damaged and need to be replaced. One Agribusiness tent (40 by 240 feet) was erected on Wednesday, July 6 from parts of damaged tents. Shutske said a second Agribusiness tent was ready for erection and that they'd work through the weekend if necessary to get all tents in place.

A large number of machines arrived on July 6 and many lots are fully populated with machines. Numerous building have been constructed. Most of the buildings constructed before the storm received no visible damage, according to Shutske.

Shutske said the real credit for the quick turn around in the situation goes to Marathon county volunteers, WFTD electrician and tent providers.

Shutske said he'll be contacting the Wisconsin Farm Report directly with more updates as they become available.
