Farm News: Biomass Conference Back In Dubuque

comments

Posted: 08.17.2011

The 2011 Midwest Biomass Conference will take place at the Grand River Center in Dubuque, Iowa, Nov. 2 and 3. The conference is hosted by the Driftless Area Initiative and will feature speakers and discussions pertaining to direct-use biomass applications, feedstock development and existing resources, feedstock harvest, transportation and logistics, and biomass market development in the Midwest.

The conference provides an opportunity to explore current and future potential biomass energy production and local energy sustainability in the Midwest, a largely underserved area for biomass resources until recently. The conference offers outstanding networking opportunities between potential biomass producers, biomass users, manufacturers of biomass solutions or equipment, students, researchers, consultants and market developers. The conference also provides insight for small community leaders, business owners and school representatives who may be interested in learning how biomass heating options could meet their needs at consistent reduced costs.

While the 2011 Midwest Biomass Conference covers topics that pertain to the entire Midwest and beyond, there will be significant focus on biomass production and utilization in the Driftless Area, a unique geographic region covering parts of southwest Wisconsin, northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota and northwest Illinois. A full list of speakers, conference agenda and registration information can be found at www.midwestbiomassconference.com
