A barn has been destroyed by fire in Maribel, but authorities say the calves stored there got out in time and no one from the 10 rural fire departments called out to fight the blaze were injured.

The Manitowoc County sheriff's office reports Sunday that it happened Saturday afternoon. When the Maribel Fire Department firefighters arrived, the building was fully engulfed in flames.

The barn held calves in in the bottom and dry straw on the second level. The property owner says all the calves got out in time and no one was hurt.

In addition to the Maribel Fire Department, nine other agencies were called in to assist.
