Bob Stallman, President of the American Farm Bureau Federation, was in Wisconsin on Wednesday to participate in the regular board meeting of the WI Farm Bureau.  Pam Jahnke sat down and talked with Stallman about the November 23rd deadline for the "Super Committee" to finalize budget cutting suggestions.  And there's a certain air of secrecy to development on the 2012 Farm Bill.  Is that real or perceived?

You can listen to all of the conversation here.

Stallman said the November 23rd deadline could easily be moved in Congress deems that necessary.  He told Pam Jahnke that right now, it doesn't look like the committee will get the job done.

Stallman also agreed that there is a certain amount of secrecy to development of the 2012 Farm Bill.  Although Farm Bureau has been engaged in the process - getting details from the four major legislators working on the bill - is daunting.  Stallman said one of his great concerns is rushing the process and not giving thoughtful consideration to the bill.
