Farm News: Midwest Forage Symposium Gearing UpcommentsPosted: 12.06.2011
Dairy, beef, and hay producers, as well as custom operators and nutrient applicators need to mark their calendars for the upcoming 2012 Symposium scheduled for January 23-25 at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI.
Providing some of the latest and most relevant forage related educational sessions the upper Midwest has to offer, the Symposium, hosted jointly by the Midwest Forage Association (MFA), the Professional Nutrient Applicators Association of Wisconsin (PNAAW), and the Wisconsin Custom Operators (WCO), promises to deliver an unparalleled program of forage and alfalfa related information. The Symposium features an impressive lineup of renowned university,
USDA-ARS, industry, agency, and producer speakers from across the north
central region who will be discussing topics MFA members themselves have
identified as being the most relevant and timely. General and concurrent
session topics include (but are not limited to):
* Economic Trends & Ag: A View From the Chicago Fed
* GPS: Where Are We and Where Are We Headed?
* Justifying New Equipment Purchases
* Feed & Consequences: NIR Technology
* What's New in Corn Silage for Dairy Cattle
* The Best Options for Storing Silage on Your Farm
* Forages and Feed Efficiency in Diary Heifers
* Forage Potassium: Evil Villain or Just Misunderstood
* MFRP Research Updates
* New Innovations in Forage Equipment
* Much, much, more...
The 2012 Symposium will again feature Level 1 Certification for professional
nutrient applicators, as well as a Pump Safety School for Dragline
Operators. These sessions will take place the afternoon of Monday, January
23 and are free to participants who register for both Tuesday and Wednesday
sessions.
Full program preregistration for association members is only $115, and
single-day and multiple-person farm/business registration options are
available. Reserve a room by calling the Chula Vista Resort at 855.530.1706.
If you're a forage producer, nutrient applicator, or custom operator, you
won't want to miss this opportunity to learn more about your trade, network
with industry experts, and visit with fellow peers. Make plans now to
attend!
