Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced that Lee Jennings will join the county as the new Crop and Soils Educator for Dane County UW-Extension. Jennings will work with the county's new and existing farmers to provide a wide array of resources to help them maximize the profitability of their cropping operations.

"We're happy to welcome Lee aboard as our newest
member of Dane County UW-Extension," said Parisi. "Agriculture is a critical part of Dane County's identity and economy. We are proud to provide resources like Lee to help all of our farm families continue working the land and increase their bottom line."

Jennings is a certified crop advisor with over 25 years of experience in agronomy. He began his career as a technician managing the Wisconsin Hybrid Corn
Performance Trials and as a Seed Field Inspector and Laboratory Technician for the Wisconsin Crop Improvement Association.

Jennings has held several positions in the agricultural seed business
foundation and commercial seed production, distribution, agronomy, and sales management. He also has experience in large crop protection, agricultural retail organizations, training, and specializes in trouble-shooting crop production challenges.

The Crop and Soils Educator administers education programs including crop production and horticulture, nutrient and land management, economics and marketing, farm and agricultural
business management, and farm safety for youth and adults. A full listing of programs available through Dane County UW-Extension can be found at http://dane.uwex.edu.

"Lee will be a strong addition to our staff and enable us continue to provide diverse, quality programming for our families in agriculture," said Carrie Edgar, Dane County UW-Extension head. "We can't wait for our community partners to meet and start working with Lee."

Jennings will work closely with Nolen Anderson, Dane County UW-Extension's Dairy and Livestock agent. Jennings can be reached at 608-224-3716 or by e-mail at
