Farm News: Farmers Back In The DellscommentsPosted: 01.09.2012
Wisconsin crop farmers won’t want to miss this year’s information packed Corn/Soy Expo Thursday, Feb. 2 through Friday, Feb. 3, at the Kalahari Conference Center, Wisconsin Dells.
Agricultural meteorologist Greg Soulje starts the program, then marketing and industry issues sessions are moderated by Key Note Speaker Mark Pearson, who is back by popular demand. Thursday afternoon breakout sessions feature a variety of production and business subjects including a session on stored grain management with John Gnadke, Farm Management Consultant. Cover Cropping Specialist Steve Groff returns for an informative session on tillage radishes and other options while Attorney George Twohig presents information on farm transfers.
Market analyst Andy Shissler with Roach Ag Marketing opens Friday’s program followed by Family Farm Business consultant Jolene Brown and Ag Economist Barry Flinchbaugh in a general session that promises to be as entertaining as it is informative.
The annual Corn/Soy Expo is a great opportunity to mix farm business with family time. Members of the Wisconsin Soybean Association and the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association save $50 on registration to the 2-day event, which includes free admission to the annual Pork Producers Taste of Elegance, morning coffee & rolls, two lunches, breaks, an evening reception, industry trade show and admission to all programs. As a special incentive for Corn/Soy EXPO attendees, the Kalahari offers their standard rooms for $109 Wednesday and Thursday evening, which include free waterpark passes for every registered.
The complete Corn/Soy Expo program and event registration is available online at the new www.CornSoyExpo.org web site and people save $40 when registering by January 14.
