Wisconsin’s December milk price is expected to average $16.60 per hundred weight (cwt.) or approximately $1.42 per gallon. This price is 90 cents higher than November’s price of $15.70 per cwt., or about $1.34 per gallon - but $1.20 per hundredweight less than December 2008. The expected U.S. milk price for December is $16.30 per cwt., this is up $1.00 from November, and 30 cents lower than Wisconsin’s price. All 23 of the major milk producing states are predicting a price increase from November to December. California is expecting the largest increase of $1.46 per cwt. |
