National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) has announced the newly elected president, J.D. Alexander, will speak at the upcoming Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association’s (WCA) Winter Conference on Friday, February 10th.  The WCA Winter Conference will be held at the Wintergreen Resort and Conference Center in the Wisconsin Dells on February 10th and 11th.
J.D. Alexander will be taking over as NCBA President during the upcoming 2012 Cattle Industry Annual Convention in Nashville, TN, in early February.  Since 1984, Alexander has been the owner of Alexander Cattle & Farms, a 2,000 acre corn/soybean/alfalfa farm that markets approximately 15,000 head of cattle per year and is located in Pilger, Nebraska.  Alexander will lead the producer directed marketing organization and trade association for America's one million cattle farmers and ranchers.
Alexander will be speaking at the WCA evening banquet on issues facing the beef cattle industry in 2012 and beyond.  The future NCBA President cites the extreme volatility in the market place, government regulation, tighter credit markets, and the world economy as some of the top concerns.
Once again the WCA welcome the Wisconsin Cattlewomen, Wisconsin Angus, Wisconsin Hereford, and the Wisconsin Shorthorn Associations who will be joining the Winter Conference again this year.  Last year over 300 beef industry people joined in the 2-day event for educational and organizational meetings.  This year Friday will feature a full day of educational sessions and Saturday will include both educational and organizational meetings.  Conference agenda and registration information can be found at WCA’s website at http://www.wisconsincattlemen.com/.
