Applications are being accepted now through March 31, for the 2012 Dane County Fairest of the Fair. Dane County residents, at least 18 years old as of January 1, 2013 are eligible to participate. Applicants must be familiar with the Dane County Fair and be willing to fulfill promotional duties from June 2012 through June 2013.
Interviews will be held Sunday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dane County Extension Office. The Fairest of the Fair will be selected by a panel of judges based on communication skills, knowledge and experience with the Dane County Fair, school and community activities, professional appearance and personality. A Crowning Ceremony for the 2012 Fairest of the Fair will take place at Dane County Breakfast on the Farm on Saturday, June 9 at Kellercrest Registered Holsteins Inc.-Tim & Sandy Keller and Mark & Kareen Keller, Mt. Horeb, WI. Throughout the year the Fairest of the Fair will promote the Fair at community events, parades and family venues. In addition, the 2012 Fairest will represent the Dane County Fair at the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs competition to be held in January 2013 in Wisconsin Dells. Media training will be provided. The individual chosen will serve as official hostess and youth spokesperson for the 2012 Dane County Fair, held July 18-22 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
