LAND O LAKES®, headquartered in Arden Heights, MN, is trying to spread abundant dairy products to people that might otherwise not get a chance to enjoy them.

On Thursday, Land O'Lakes representatives will be delivering its first Mild Cheddar Cheese donation to Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. The donation is part of LOL's recently announced “First Run” program.

As part of the “First Run” program, Land O’Lakes has committed to donating a truckload of fresh product to food banks each month in 2010 to help alleviate hunger nationwide. The program encourages collaboration with Land O’Lakes supply chain partners to maximize capabilities.

For this delivery, supply chain partners in Wisconsin have donated the costs involved in product manufacturing, packaging, storage and shipping.
