A renowned advocate on speaking out for agriculture will be the keynote speaker at the Wisconsin Ag Women’s Summit, March 5-7 at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva.

“Michele Payn-Knoper equips her audiences with tools to help the non-farm public appreciate agriculture’s role in bringing each meal from the farm gate to the food plate,” said Dale Beaty, who organizes the event for the Wisconsin Farm Bureau. “She helps farmers speak consumers’ language, and ultimately her message helps farm families protect their reputation, legacy and bottom line.”

“This gathering of women involved in all aspects of agriculture is a fun way to network, gain skills that improve your life and business, and get away for a weekend,” Beaty said.

Attendees have two chances to hear Payn-Knoper during the weekend summit. Things kick off on Friday with a Women’s Expo and welcome dinner with greetings from Farm Bureau leaders. Saturday features a number of breakout sessions on family wellness, social networking and new materials to be used for the popular Ag in the Classroom program.  Saturday evening entertainment will be provided by Nath and Marnie Dresser: Some Kind of Sign. Following a Sunday morning devotional service and breakfast, Payn-Knopfer will deliver her keynote address.

The cost for the full weekend’s conference is $150 per person, which includes five meals, entertainment, refreshment breaks, conference workshops and materials.  There are single day registrations as well. Friday (welcome dinner) is $50 per person.  Saturday (lunch and dinner) is $100 each.  Registration deadline is February 5.

Room reservations should be made with the Grand Geneva Resort at (800) 558-3417.  Be sure to request the Wisconsin Ag Women’s Summit room block. Reservations must be made by February 5.
