Farm News: Dane County Looking For Next FairestcommentsPosted: 03.09.2010 Applications are being accepted now through March 31, for the 2010 Dane County Fair’s Fairest of the Fair contest. Dane County residents, at least 18 years old as of January 1, 2011, are eligible to participate. In addition, applicants must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, be familiar with the Dane County Fair and be willing to commit to fulfilling promotional duties from June 2010 through July 2011. Interviews will be held Sunday, May 2 at the Dane County Extension Office. The 2010 Dane County Fairest of the Fair will be crowned at the Dane County Dairy Breakfast on Saturday, June 12th at the Doug and Lori Brown Farm near Belleville. The Fairest of the Fair will be selected on the basis of personality, communication skills, school and community activities, professional appearance as well as knowledge of and experience with the Dane County Fair. The individual chosen will serve as the official hostess and spokesperson for the 2010 Dane County Fair, held July 14 – 18 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Throughout the year, the Fairest of the Fair will promote the event through participation in parades, festivals and community events as requested. In addition, the 2010 Fairest will represent the Dane County Fair at the three-day Wisconsin State Fairest of the Fairs competition, to be held in Wisconsin Dells in January of 2011.
