Farm News: Konder Selected As National Officer Candidate

Kirsten Konder, 2009-10 State FFA Treasurer from the Glenwood City FFA Chapter has been selected to represent Wisconsin as the 2010 Wisconsin National FFA Officer Candidate.

Konder is a student at UW-River Falls where she's pursuing an ag education major.  She grew up on a dairy farm just down the road in Glenwood City - where she was elected the first female president of her local FFA chapter.

Konder says the best advice she ever received was to work hard and never give up on your dreams.  That philosophy may pay off in the national race. National officer candidates go through a series of tests, interviews and presentations to win the right to become an officer.  According to the national FFA website, candidates are evaluated on everything from their FFA knowledge on policy right on through to their perspective on national news issues.

If any chapter would be interested in working with Kirsten or having her come and visit your FFA chapter, contact the Wisconsin FFA Center.
