Farm News: March Milk Price Going DowncommentsPosted: 04.01.2010
Wisconsin farmers received an average price of $16.00 per hundredweight (cwt.) or $1.37 per gallon for their milk in February 2010, $4.50 more than in February 2009. The March price, howver, is expected to drop $1.10 to $14.90 per cwt - $1.28 per gallon. The U.S. milk price for March is predicted to decrease 80 cents for the month, to $15.10 per cwt. All states are expecting a decline in price from February to March. Texas is expected to have the smallest decrease, at 30 cents per cwt. Wisconsin and Minnesota, on the other hand, are expecting some of the largest decreases, at $1.10 and $1.00 per cwt., respectively. |
