Farm News: Bull Sale Does Well In PlattevillecommentsPosted: 04.05.2010 It was nearly another record breaking bull sale for the 53rd annual Wisconsin Beef Improvement Association's annual Performance Tested Bull Sale. The event was held on Saturday at the UW-Platteville Pioneer Prairie farm. TOTAL SALE: 56 Bulls averaged $2135, just $20 less than last year’s record high sale average.

Specific Breed Information:
Johnson Family Cattle Co. Clintonville, WI consigned the top selling bull for the day. Red Angus Lot # 70, a WR Mr. Red Dawg son, sold for $3,550 to Walter Smith, Portage, WI. Angus Lot #8 was the second high selling bull of the sale. Herman Wolters, Wolters Farm, Cuba City, WI consigned the bull. Charles Baxter, Darlington, WI paid $3,500 for the Mohnen Dynamite 1356 son.
The second high selling Angus bull was consigned by the same owner and purchased by the same buyer. Charles Baxter paid $3,350 for lot #14. Wolters Farm, consigned the bull. Angus lot # 36, consigned by John & Marty Andersen, Verona, WI sold for $3,200 to Biddick, Inc. Livingston, WI.
SMBA Stock Farm, Tom & Tweed Shuman, Hayward, WI consigned the second high selling Red Angus bull. Tom Woodhouse, Genoa, WI, paid $2,500 for Lot # 75 The next high selling Red Angus bull was consigned by UW Platteville Farm, Platteville, WI. Lot # 30 sold to Kamps Brothers, Cuba City, WI for $2,300.
Bob and Mary Roenneburg, Vulture Hollow Simmentals, Blue Mounds, WI, consigned the top selling Simmental Bull. The DAUME Lucky Numbers son, sold for $2,750 to Robert Van Natta, Platteville, WI. Walton Simmentals, Robert Walton, DeForest, WI sold the second high selling Simmental bull to Roll-N-Valley Farm, Brett Broadwater, Preston, MN for $2,500.
