Several recent graduates of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Farm &  
Industry Short Course (FISC) received awards from the Wisconsin  
Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association during their graduation ceremonies.

WALSAA Outstanding Student awards were presented to four second-year  
Short Course students who excelled in academics, activities and  
leadership.  The recipients of this new award include:
Jessica Ebert, Fond du Lac; 
Kipp Hinz, Osceola; 
Hans Johnson, Star Prairie; and  
Tiffany Kohlmann, Reedsville.  
Each received a plaque and a $500 award.

WALSAA Activity and Leadership Awards went to selected students to  
recognize exceptional work beyond the classroom within the Short  
Course program.  Receiving the award were:
Aaron Bohn, Watertown;  
Curtis Hiett, Gurnee, Ill.; 
Scott Felten, St. Cloud; 
Michelle Lindeman, Fort Atkinson; 
Timothy Horsch, New Holstein, and 
Stewart Bartz, Downing.

WALSAA Academic awards were given to first- and second-year students  
who maintained a 3.70 GPA or higher. Recipients include:
Samantha Loehr, Mt Calvary;
Tyler Thome, Malone; 
Brandon Lesar, Cedarburg;  
Derek Sippel, St. Cloud;
Ryan Nigh, Viroqua; 
Austin McCulley, Reedsville; 
Kyle Frailing, Berlin; 
Todd Lanis, Minneapolis; 
Ethan Ulness, Valders; and
Joshua Collins, Clinton.
