![]() Joy Kirkpatrick and Jenny Vanderlin were presented with the 2010 Donald R. Peterson Tech Transfer Award during the spring banquet of Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, Inc. in Madison. Rick Klemme, Chair of Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, said the award recognizes outstanding educational exhibits from tent city. Kirkpatrick and Vanderlin were the coordinators for the Center for Dairy Profitability display, and the Farm And Risk Management (FARM) work group exhibit.

The 2010 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days Scholarship was presented to Steffanie Koch of Mayville. The $2,000 award was presented to Koch for her leadership activities in high school, her community, and especially her assistance during the 2010 Dodge County Farm Technology Days. Koch was selected from 12 outstanding applications, according to Rick Klemme. Koch is a first year student at UW-River Falls, majoring in Animal Science.
![]() Matt Hanson, Dodge County Extension Crops and Soils Agent, accepted a $2,000 check from Wisconsin Farm Technology Days for the UW-Extension teams leadership efforts during the 2009 show in Waterloo. Rick Klemme told Farm Director, Pam Jahnke, that the Dodge county show was one of the most financially successful events that WFTD, Inc. has experienced. Estimates are that Dodge county will have more then $200,000 remaining from the show to be redistributed throughout the county in different forms. Klemme said that WFTD, Inc. traditionally shares proceeds from the show in a 70-30 split with the host county. WFTD, Inc. keeping approximately 30 percent - with the other 70 percent staying with the host county to cover expenses. |
