Farm News: Back To Washington For Dairy AdvisorscommentsPosted: 05.21.2010 U.S. Ag Secretary, Tom Vilsack, is calling the Dairy Industry Advisory Committee back to Washington in early June to continue working on dairy reform. The committee will meet on June 3-4 for the second meeting. The Advisory Committee's focus will be on farm milk price volatility, dairy farmer profitability, current federal dairy policy and new policy proposals from dairy industry groups.
The advisory committee was announced in January, with four representatives from Wisconsin and Minnesota. The four include:
Wisconsin Ag Secretary, Rod Nilsesteun Ed Welch, President and CEO of Associated Milk Producers Incorporated
Jim Goodman, organic dairy producer from Vernon county and
Bob Wills, owner/operator of Cedar Grove Cheese Factory and a PhD economist
The meeting will be open to the public, and also broadcast on the internet.
