The Agri-Business Council and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation have presented scholarships for students pursuing post-secondary training in agriculture and agribusiness.
Ashley Julka is the recipient of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation Harold Reinecke Scholarship. She is the daughter of Randy and Marilyn Julka of Rosendale and a graduate of Laconia High School. She is pursuing a degree in Agriculture Marketing Communications and Journalism at UW-River Falls. This summer, she will be interning with the Wisconsin Holstein Association.
Three $500 Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce Agri-Business Council Scholarships were awarded to:
Gregory Zimdars, son of David and Audrey Zimdars of Ripon. Zimdars is a student at UW-Fond du Lac. He intends to transfer to UW-Madison to pursue a degree in Dairy Science.;
Caleb Riedeman, son of Scott and Rose Riedeman of Brandon. Riedeman will attend UW-River Falls and pursue a degree in Crop and Soil Science with a Sustainable Agriculture Option. ; and
Steven Gross, son of Michael and Jan Gross of Oakfield. Gross has aspirations of attending UW-Platteville to major in Agriculture Education.
Two $350 Agri-Business Council scholarships were awarded to Kristin Gudex, daughter of Robert and Debra Gudex of Campbellsport, who will use her scholarship to aid her studies in Dairy Management at UW-Madison Short Course, and to David Brown, son of Jeff and Jane Brown of Oakfield, who will attend Fox Valley Technical College to major in Diesel Equipment Mechanics.
